Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA), located in Arlington, Virginia, is approximately 20 minutes from downtown Washington. If you arrive at Reagan National Airport, you may take a taxi into the city. Ask the dispatcher for a D.C. taxi, not a Virginia taxi. The fare is approximately $15.00. There is also a Metrorail subway stop at Reagan National Airport.
Dulles International Airport (IAD), located in Virginia, is approximately one hour from downtown Washington. You can take the Washington Flyer airport bus service (703.685.1400), located on the lower level of the airport, into the city (New York Avenue bus terminal) or to the West Falls Church Metrorail station in suburban Virginia. Buses depart from the airport every half-hour. The fare to the New York Avenue bus terminal is $16.00 one-way, and the fare to the West Falls Church Metrorail station is $8.00. Metered taxis are also available from Dulles Airport into downtown Washington and are approximately $40.00.
Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), located in Maryland, is approximately one hour from downtown Washington. You can take the "Super Shuttle" airport van service (800.258.3826), located on the lower level "ground transportation desk," into the city. Vans depart on demand. The fare to downtown Washington on the Super Shuttle is $28.00 one way for the first passenger and $5.00 for each additional passenger. Amtrak and Marc commuter rail service is also available to Washington's Union Station. The BWI train station is a free shuttle ride from the airport.

Getting Around
Washington plays host to abundant public transportation, and students are not advised to rent cars for their stay. The Metrorail subway system is inexpensive, clean, and safe. The Metrobus system serves every corner of the metropolitan area, although it can be difficult for visitors to decipher. Taxis are abundant and among the cheapest in the country.
