Program Description & Curriculum
The Washington Campus offers executive seminars that prepare business leaders to think strategically about government as they develop critical business decisions. Drawing upon the unique resources of the national capital, The Washington Campus selects public policy experts and seasoned political specialists with hands-on experience to provide business-oriented education on the decision-making processes of the U.S. government.
In each seminar, The Washington Campus
- Works in close collaboration with the sponsor to target the strategic and educational goals of the organization;
- Schedules sessions at sites throughout Washington where decisions are made;
- Provides appropriate course materials that can be used as a reference in the future;
- Plans and implements all program logistics, including lodging, meeting sites, catering, local transportation, and security clearance for government buildings.
The Washington Campus has conducted seminars designed to focus on various industries including insurance, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, financial services, consumer products, public utilities, health care, defense, entertainment, electronics, energy, aerospace, information processing, and telecommunications.
Logistical details are dependent upon the specific agenda created for our customers.
Coordination Services

Location
Washington, D.C., typically serves as the location for these seminars in order to draw upon the unique resources of the nation's capital and to include top policymakers as faculty. However, The Washington Campus is fully equipped to present seminars at locations selected by the sponsor, and in recent years has conducted such programs in New York, Phoenix, Houston, Chicago, San Francisco, Atlanta.
Q: When can the Washington Campus schedule tailored programs?
A: An organization can schedule tailored programs anytime throughout the year. In order to schedule meetings with Members of Congress and other prominent government officials while in the nation's capital, we encourage scheduling seminars during times when Congress is in session. We also try to avoid scheduling programs during major federal holidays when government offices are closed.
Q: Are there a minimum and a maximum number of participants that can attend? What is ideal number of participants?
A: The Washington Campus can create a program for any number of participants. However, if a group becomes too large, there is a decline in the opportunities for more personalized interaction with speakers and for visiting government sites throughout the city. The average size for a tailored program is 25-35 participants, although smaller and larger numbers have been highly successful.
Q: How are your tailored programs priced?
A: We price our tailored programs by providing a fixed cost that covers all the educational components - including speaker honoraria, media fees, audio/visual equipment, transportation - and a per person variable amount that covers food, beverages, and materials.
The specific amount depends on the length of the program, as well as other factors such as the time of year and quality of lodging and meals chosen by the client.
Q: Do you present seminars for foreign executives of global corporations?
A: Yes - in fact, most of our client corporations have an international presence with multi-national responsibilities. We are pleased to welcome many foreign and non-US representatives to our programs.
