Shirley Zebroski, Ph.D.
Senior Vice President for Academic Programs |
Dr. Shirley Zebroski serves as a Senior Vice President for Academic Programs. In this role, she is responsible for leading the comprehensive Washington Campus programs for MBA students, including open-enrollment courses. She also oversees executive education and leadership programs for corporate clients. She works closely with each graduate business school participating in the Washington Campus Consortium to ensure that the MBA program is in alignment with its curricular goals. In addition to developing course content and recruiting senior policy speakers, she lectures on topics such as corporate advocacy and international trade policy.
Dr. Zebroski is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University where she offers a practicum on international business-government relations in the Master of Science Foreign Service (MSFS) program. The course focuses on the role global corporations can play in shaping public policy on international economic issues.
Prior to joining the Washington Campus in 2010, Dr. Zebroski was Director of Legislative and Regulatory Affairs for General Motors. During her twenty-year career in Washington with GM, she was responsible for corporate advocacy on matters involving international trade and investment. With operations in more than 30 countries and sales in over 190 countries, she worked with GM business units around the world. She represented GM’s interests in numerous business associations in Washington and worked with many coalitions to advance international trade policy objectives.
Dr. Zebroski began her career in Washington as a legislative aide in the U.S. House of Representatives. She was responsible for trade and select tax issues in the office of Congressman Byron L. Dorgan (D-ND), who served on the Ways and Means Committee. Prior to that, she was responsible for energy, environment, trade, tax and economic matters in the office of Congressman Clarence Miller (R-OH), who served on the Appropriations Committee.
Dr. Zebroski received her Ph.D. and M.A. in U.S. history from Ohio University and her B.A. from the University of Massachusetts.
