Educational Programs

The Washington Campus offers customized courses, programs, and residencies for academic, corporate, not-for-profit, as well as governmental organizations.  Information on our course offerings can be accessed through the links below.  We encourage you to contact us to find out how we can provide a strategic edge for your organization.

Washington is our campus... decision-makers are our faculty!  Let us design a program for your organization, corporation, or institution!

MBA Courses
Our week-long residencies for MBA students are developed for, and in conjunction with, our consortium schools and students earn up to three graduate credits for their participation in these programs.  Currently-matriculated MBA students at non-consortium institutions may also be eligible to attend our open-enrollment programs (contact info@washcampus.edu for more information).

Corporate Courses, Trade Association Programs, and Non-Profit Programs
The Washington Campus works with corporate executives, human resources directors, and government affairs offices to design corporate programs that provide executives with either a broad introduction to the Washington policy-making process, or that focus more narrowly on a particular set of legislative or regulatory issues of interest or concern to your company, industry or organization.  These programs can be designed in conjuction with Capitol Hill Visit Days.

Undergraduate Business Courses
The Washington Campus works closely with business school faculty to combine the best of two worlds: a business-focused curriculum and hands-on experience in Washington, DC with candid discussions by high-level practitioners of the public policy process.  Our undergraduate courses allow students to see how the abstract concepts they have studied in class - fiscal policy, regulation, banking - play out in the daily life of the nation's capital.

Master of Accounting Courses
The Washington Campus provides courses for individual institutions or groups of institutions that want to provide up-to-the-minute training to their students on new and evolving accounting regulations and audit standards.  Students learn not only what the recent regulations require of them as future accountants and auditors, but also the political and policy context in which these regulations were developed and will continue to evolve.

Policy Programs for Graduate Students in Science and Technology
Washington policy decisions have a tremendous influence on what types of research will receive Federal funding, how research results will be translated into new technologies, and what types of large scale facilities and infrastructure will be constructed. In addition, scientists and engineers have an important role to play in providing empirical data that informs critical policy decisions, The Washington Campus provides Washington-based courses to introduce future scientists and engineers to the policy process in which they must engage throughout their future careers in academia, industry, or policy.

Open Enrollment Programs and Courses
In addition to programs and courses designed specifically to meet the needs of particular universities, companies, or associations, The Washington Campus also sponsors open enrollment programs that allow individuals to gain the insight and understanding they need to give them an edge in understanding current national policy issues, to help them develop a sound business strategy, or to allow you as a citizen to become more active in government. These open enrollment programs and courses range from evening workshops, to week-long Washington residency programs.

Courses for Diplomats and Senior Embassy Staff
The Washington Campus offers open enrollment opportunities in our Executive Education programs for Diplomats and Senior Embassy Staff.  Participants will enjoy three days of exciting and informative lectures and discussions with notable leaders and decision makers in Washington, D.C.  Our speakers provide an insider's perspective on how decisions get made, the priorities that must be balanced by decision-makers, and the points of access for those who want to inform and influence the process.

Government Leadership Courses
The Washington Campus designs cutting-edge courses that help prepare senior government employees, including those in SES leadership and training programs, to understand the complex but important interactions between various agencies and between the three branches of government. Our faculty experts have worked in Federal agencies, on Capital Hill, and in the White House, in non-profit organizations, and in private industry, and each provides insight about the political pressures that influence decision-making as well as ways in which agency representatives can better represent their needs and accomplishments to Congress and the White House. These programs can be designed to take place over a single week, or can be scheduled over the course of a year to provide long-term training opportunities.
