West Virginia University and The Washington Campus are partnering to offer a one-of-a-kind Washington-based Graduate Certificate
in Forensic Accounting & Fraud Investigation
The four-course, 12 credit-hour graduate certificate program combines classroom theory with real-world experiences, case studies and simulations to prepare you to identify, investigate and prosecute those guilty of fradulent practice. Sessions will focus on the forensic accounting and fraud investigative skills needed to examine white-collar crime, including fraudulent financial reporting and theft of assets. You will also practice the analytical, communication, critical thinking, and technological skills used in the detection and litigation of such crimes.

October 11-15, 2010: ACCT 582 - Fraud Data Analysis
November 8-12, 2010: ACCT 583 - Fraud: Criminology/Legal Issues
December 6-10, 2010: ACCT 584 - Advanced Fraud Investigations
Tuition
The total cost per person for the four week graduate certificate program is $12,000. Students may be eligible for federal financial aid through the University of West Virginia to cover some or all of the program tuition costs. Companies or organizations sending three or more participants to the program are eligible for a reduced tuition rate of $10,000 per person. Please contact The Washington Campus for more information.

Prerequisites
Applicants must meet minimum coursework, GPA, and graduate admission test requirements. CPAs, lawyers, and those admitted to an accredited graduate program in accounting or to an accredited law school will be automatically admitted. For accountants, prerequisites include principles of financial accounting, intermediate accounting, accounting systems and auditing. For others, such as law enforcement officials, lawyers, business professionals, psychologists, sociologists, and government accountability and oversight professionals, work experience may be substituted for some or all of the prerequisite courses.
